Making a place around a tree.
The cedar provides the central reference for the composition. Its silhouette is considered alongside the house, an open area and lower planting. The first drawing suggests a suspended seat beneath the tree; the second reveals the relationship with the garden from another angle.
Read together, these views invite a conversation about everyday use, views and the presence of existing vegetation. Any assessment of the tree itself requires the appropriate site observations and expertise.
Connecting water, planting and family life.
The pool sketch brings water into the wider garden composition. Layers of planting give depth to the scene. The play area introduces a more open space, with trees and planted edges.
The drawings describe complementary places within one garden. They are useful for discussing the overall arrangement before refining dimensions, levels, materials and technical details.
A study of intentions.
These images come from the design documents supplied for the portfolio. They are presented as study sketches, with no claim that they show a completed garden. Dimensions, a construction budget and the final planting specification are not established by these perspectives.
A further stage would relate the design to surveys, levels, technical interfaces and the documents agreed for the project. The precise scope and responsibilities are set out in the appointment.
